KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has approved in principle a grant of Rs 284 million for Frontier Education Foundation (FEF) Colleges with the direction to move a summary to this effect forthwith. He was presiding over a meeting of Board of Directors of FEF at Chief Minister House, Peshawar. Adviser to CM on Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, Finance Minister Muzaffar Said, Administrative Secretaries of respective departments, MD FEF & Bank of Khyber, VC University of Engineering & Technology, Advocate General and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
To run the affairs of the Foundation as per original mandate and to ensure its smooth functioning, Chief Minister constituted a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Mushtaq Ghani. The committee is mandated to chalk out modalities and decide the authority for administrative and supervisory control of FEF. In the previous meeting of BOD, it was proposed on the directives of CM that special grant is required for colleges having better enrolment position.
The CM on Tuesday while approving the said grant stated that his government wanted to promote quality education to establish a welfare society based on social equality, justice, free of all sorts of exploitation. Meanwhile, the CM has ordered immediate commencement of classes in Takhtbai Commerce College in a rented building from next academic session.
