Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday stressed upon the Muslim Ummah to forge unity among the ranks for the supremacy of Islam. Talking to media he said that Muslim Ummah was confronting with varied problems and difficulties because we have become unconcerned about the spirit of Islam. Asif further said that some anti-Islamic forces were trying hard to create misconceptions about Islam by linking terrorism with Islam.
Meanwhile, Ashura was observed peacefully in Sialkot. On this occasion, special security arrangements were made by District Administration for maintaining the law and order in the district. Two Zuljanah processions were taken out from the city while third was taken out from cantonment area Sialkot. In order to provide timely medical treatment to the mourners first-aid units were established.
