Fazl demands referendum on proposed Fata-KP merger

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam -Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has demanded the holding of a referendum on proposal about merger of FATA into KP and allowing the tribesmen to decide future of tribal areas. Fazl has asked for granting Federally Administered Tribal Areas people their constitutional rights prior to the merger. He was addressing at massive public gathering at railway ground arranged in connection with Mufti Mehmood Conference in district Mardan.
JUI-F chief said, Government should give right to the people of FATA that they should take decision about their future. He opposed the reforms after discussing them with party leaders keeping in view the interest of the people of FATA. A jirga was convened having representation from all political parties as well as from each agency of FATA, he added.
Large numbers of workers of JUI-F of Mardan district attended the meeting. Federal minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani, general secretary and Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, provincial information secretary Jalil Jan, district Ameer Maulana Mohammad Qasim and other also addressed the conference.
Fazl said that late Mufti Mahmood gave awareness to the masses of the country and also brought changes in the country politics. He added that Mufti Mahmood has great in making the 1973 constitution and included section about 'Khatm-e-Nabuat' and banning Ahmadia's. He said that at that time some forces did not want Mufti Mahmood government and they started hypocrisy against the Baluchistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government and after the passage of nine months they finished both the government.
The JUI-F chief added that Mufti Mahmood supported former dictator late Zia-ul-Haq due to the situation of the country and Zia-ul-Haq committed Mufti Mahmood that he will restore democracy in the country, but Zia-ul-Haq did not fulfilled his commitment and Mufti Mahmood starting opposing Zia-ul-Haq. He added that we follow the footsteps of Mufti Mahmood and in 2002 when MMA came in power and Akram Khan Durrani become the Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa we follow him. "We had passed a bill in the provincial assembly on the name of Hasba bill during MMA-led government in KP, to implement the Islamic laws in the province however former dictator Musharraf challenged this bill in the Supreme Court and the court declared this bill against the constitution", he added.
He added that the law and order situation of the province were better in the MMA government and all the roads were opened for the masses and there was no check points on roads but now in the current government the roads were blocked for the masses and there are check points on different roads. He added that we supported the government in war of terror to control terrorism but the terrorism don't finish from the country and government also did not reconstructed the mosques and madras's damaged in the war of terror.
Maulana Fazl said that Sheikh-ul-Hind put the base of Jamiat in 1919 and Jamiat has completed his hundred years. He added that next year we will celebrate it golden jubilee. Maulana said that Pakistan is of the masses of Pakistan; and very soon we will take out the funeral prayer of American, Eastern countries and Jewish agenda from the country. "We cannot allow the Jewish agenda in the country", he added. He said that today the Afghan refugees, masses of FATA and the people of occupied Kashmir are looking toward JUI-F.
