India, Afghanistan fail to achieve nefarious goals: Dr Malik

Former Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the governments of India and Afghanistan were trying to take advantage of some issues in the province, however, the situation has now entirely changed and both the countries could not succeed to achieve their nefarious goals. He expressed these views while talking to media persons at Hyderabad Press Club after addressing the members of Sindh High Court Bar Association, here on Tuesday.
He said that the government has evidences of interference by India and Afghanistan in Balochistan but due to the efforts of the government, the circumstances in the province have gone much better. He said that regional peace is essential for development and dialogues with the neighbouring countries are necessary to maintain complete peace in the area. Unfortunately due to long period of dictatorship, democracy could not have flourished in the country. The peace in the region could be brought with strong democratic system in the country, he added.
He said that the continuity of democracy in the country is essential and the supremacy in democracy could not be brought until the real representation of common people is present in the parliament. He said that all the provinces of the country should jointly make efforts for combating terrorism in the country. Besides, he said that the issues of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province could also be resolved through formation of join strategy. The country could not accomplish the task of development without overcoming the issue of corruption, he added.
Referring the meeting of his delegation with Khan of Kalat Mir Suleman Dawood Ahmadzai and Brahamdagh Bugti and others in London, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that efforts are underway to resolve the issues of the province through dialogues. Responding to a question, the former Chief Minister Balochistan said that his party supported the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project, however, he said that the party has its own opinion that all ports of the country should be handed over to respective provinces.
About the performance of his government, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that during two and half years' tenure, his government brought significant changes in education sector with the eradication of corruption in Public Service Commission of the province. "We have served the people of the province without any discrimination and no can level allegation against him about disloyalty with the masses", he said.
During his tenure of the government, he informed that effective measures were adopted to root out corruption which he said the root cause of destroying the system. Besides, five thousand teachers were appointed through NTS, he said and added that those who left the province now also returning to their homes.
