After being re-elected as President of the PML-N Punjab, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, has expressed his firm resolve to serve the country as well as countrymen and also to expedite the work on public welfare projects with more vigour and commitment. While addressing the PML-N Punjab council here on Wednesday, Shahbaz said the journey of progress and prosperity will continue under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif despite all conspiracies and hurdles.
The party elections of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Punjab were held at the PML-N Secretariat in Lahore on Wednesday. According to results, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has been elected unopposed as the party President in Punjab. Malik Nadeem Kamran, who is also Punjab Minister has been elected unopposed as senior vice President of the party. Nighat Parveen and Arshad Khan Leghari have been elected as vice presidents unopposed. Mian Marghoob Ahmad MPA has been elected unopposed as Secretary Finance and Samiullah Chaudhry as Secretary Information PML (N) Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz said that there is a need for a spirit of national construction as well as political tolerance so that the target of making Pakistan an economic power could be achieved. "Pakistan is making progress and such mega projects are being completed expeditiously as will help in overcoming energy crisis within next one and a half years and achievement of economic targets," he said, adding: "Completion of these projects would realise the dream of national progress."
Shahbaz Sharif said that some political elements are trying to create anarchy in the country only for achieving their narrow political ends but their conspiracies will not succeed. He said that prayers of the nation are with the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N and the masses are united under Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Moreover, in a unanimous resolution on the occasion the PML-N's Punjab Council reposed confidence in the party leadership. Through another resolution, the PML-N council strongly condemned the Indian brutalities against innocent people of Occupied Kashmir. It also denounced Indian aggression and unprovoked firing on Line of Control.
