28 Oct, 2016

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters left for Islamabad on Thursday to participate in the protest on November 2. The workers gathered at Data Darbar early Thursday morning. The caravan was seen off by former PTI Punjab president Ijaz Chaudhry and central leader of PTI Waleed Iqbal. Led by Shabbir Sial, the caravan will cover around 260km on foot while staying at six points over the next few days before finally reaching their destination in Islamabad.
The caravan is expected to be received by local party leadership at Kamoki, Wazirabad, Gujrat, Jhelum and Sohawa. Sial said the purpose of the activity was to generate awareness among the people as the small caravan moves along the GT Road. The caravan is expected to cover 45km in its initial leg as it departs from Lahore. The PTI leaders said their workers will leave in various phases with the initial convoys expected to reach the capital by the end of October in anticipation of any hurdles created by the government to prevent movement towards Islamabad.
