Air Chief for strengthening ties between Pakistan, Italy

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force on Saturday called on General Claudio Graziano, Italian Chief of Defence. Both the dignitaries remained together for some time and discussed various matters of professional interest. The Air Chief reiterated to cement the existing friendly relations and taking it to further heights. The Italian Chief of the Defence lauded the Pakistan armed forces in general and Pakistan Air Force in particular for their unmatched resolve in fighting the menace of terrorism, a statement said.
Later in the day, Air Chief also addressed an Italian think tank, where he talked about the PAF's leading role in the operation Zarb-e-Azb. Addressing the members of the think tank, the Air Chief said, "Pakistan Armed Forces started operation Zerb-e-Azb in 2014 backed by political leadership and the nation." "The PAF is operating with total precision, day and night in all weather conditions and its air strikes have neutralized command and control centers, ammunition dumps, hideouts/bunkers of the terrorists and have caused major destruction in terms of terrorists killed and infrastructure destroyed," he added.
"These Air operations against terrorists have also created ground environment for Pak Army to operate with minimum resistance and limit own casualties," he said. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force is on an official visit to Italy on the special invitation of Italian Air Force.
