A ceremony for handing over latest equipment to NAB by Australian Federal Police was held at NAB Headquarter. A delegation of Australian Federal Police led by Philip Hunter, Senior Officer of Australian Federal Police met with Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and senior officers of NAB at NAB Headquarter Office.
The Chairman NAB said that NAB is an apex anti-corruption organisation. It has established its own Forensic Science Lab with an aim to equip NAB with latest technology to cater for its emerging needs to eliminate menace of corruption from the country. He said that under our proactive approach, NAB has been engaging different governmental and non-governmental organisations and civil society in its fight against corruption. He said with the help of properly functioning forensic Science Lab, investigation officers (IOs) probing different high profile corruption cases are now able to conduct complaint verifications, inquiries and investigations transparently and on merit.
He said that NAB's Forensic Science Lab has the facilities of digital forensics, fingerprint forensics and questioned documents. Establishment of Forensic Science Lab will help in retrieving of documents from electronic devices like cell phones, computers, iPads and networks. The Chairman NAB said that in recent times, technology and modern techniques are playing vital role in reaching the logical conclusion of investigations. NAB's own Forensic Science Lab is one such tool that is gaining importance in detecting and investigating white collar crimes. He said that we appreciated help of Australian Federal Police in establishment of Forensic Science Lab which is now a notified Forensic Lab by federal government in the fields of digital forensics, questioned documents and finger prints.-PR
