Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's decision to call off the sit-in has disappointed his political workers and strengthened Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
While talking to media on Wednesday at his chamber the Opposition Leader said that when political workers were seen active on the roads and were being beaten up, Imran Khan was sleeping at Bani Gala.
Criticizing the attitude of PTI leaders he claimed that Imran Khan used political workers for his purpose.
"In any political movement, political leaders lead their workers. Imran Khan's decision strengthened the Prime Minister and disappointed the political workers. Imran Khan is making things easier for the Prime Minister. Disappointment among the political workers is dangerous for politics," he said.
He said former prime ministers Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto always remained at the forefront and led their workers in political movements.
Khursheed Shah said in politics a leader led its workers, but in that case leaders stayed safe inside their home, adding there was no need for Imran Khan to do 40 push-ups in front of the camera.
The opposition Leader claimed that Imran Khan took the advantage of Supreme Court's decision for face saving. PTI workers are asking Imran Khan to return their funds which were collected for the sit-in and Imran Khan had been exposed, Shah added.
He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government should immediately implement PPP's four demands. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should also fulfil his commitment to constitute a National Security Committee.
Khursheed Shah said Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) had prepared Terms of Reference (ToRs) and drafted a bill on Panama papers which had been introduced in the Senate. He said all opposition parties had signed on that bill and added "we want supremacy of Parliament and democracy but now the ball is in Nawaz Sharif's court".
Opposition Leader said his party would table Panama bill in the Senate on November 4.
He said the nation was not in the favour of lockdown of the federal capital but the PML-N government had failed to handle the situation, adding the arrests of PTI workers showed the weakness and failure of the government.
