Lahore Safari Zoo: directive to complete uplift works on time

Provincial Steering Committee for Wildlife Chairman Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar expressing his displeasure over the slow pace of development work going on in Lahore Safari Zoo, has directed the officers of the Punjab Communication & Works Department to complete 'Watch Towers' being built for security within next 10 days and report to him
He warned of a strict action against the officers and officials if they failed to meet this deadline. Afzal Khokhar was chairing a meeting to review the development work being carried out in Safari Zoo Park here on Friday. Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayyaz Khan, Director Lahore Zoo Chaudhry Shafqat Ali and other high ups were also present on this occasion.
Afzal Khokhar also directed the contractors of Food Court and Play land to complete the work in next 30 days and open it up for the public. He said that he would be visiting the Safari Zoo along with other members of the Committee on November 15, 2016 to review the progress on the developmental activities. He said that work should be carried out in two shifts so as to meet the deadlines of all the projects.
Director General Wildlife & Parks disclosed at the meeting that the visitors would be provided free of cost Wifi services by the end of the current month as laying of lines for the service is in the final phase. He also said that designing work of Tram Coaster to be run in Lion Safari has been completed and visitors would soon have this safe safari facility.
