Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has suspended practising license of two office bearers of High Court Bar Association (Bahawalpur bench) for taking part in celebrations of the court's 150th anniversary. Suspending the licenses, the council also summoned President bar Nawazish Ali Pirzada and Secretary Rao Nasir Mahmood today to explain their position.
The bar council had announced a boycott of the celebrations in protest of disciplinary actions taken against some advocates by LHC supervisory committee. The high court had received complaints against the advocates about professional misconduct and misbehaving judges of district courts.
