Activity at Karachi & Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 234,866 tonnes of cargo comprising 151,664 tonnes of import cargo and 83,202 tonnes of export cargo including 4,067 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 151,664 tonnes comprised of 43,952 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,671 tonnes of general cargo; 67,836 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 50,011 tonnes of coal; 11,532 tonnes of DAP; 330 tonnes of iron steel; 5,963 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 32,205 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 83,202 tonnes comprised of 45,168 tonnes of containerised cargo; 389 tonnes of general cargo; 16,198 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 2,950 tonnes of iron steel, 13,248 tonnes of genral cargo and 21,447 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 4,067 containers comprising of 2,019 containers import and 2,048 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The break-up of imported containers shows 227 of 20's and 853 of 40's loaded while 106 of 20's and 08 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 598 of 20's and 215 of 40's loaded containers while 96 of 20's and 462 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Alexandria Bridge, Osaka Tower, Al Farahidi, Hamburg Bay, Asprouda, Aditya, Positive Pioneer, Ince Akdeniz, Destiny, Rainbow Joy, Glad Mark and Pacific Leader carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, vehicle, bulk cargo and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. MSC Imma, Batam Trader, APL Coral, Alpine Mystery, KS Adonis, Lion M, Positive Pioneer and IVS Windsor carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There are three ships namely Batam Trader, Newark and Hermione carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Monday while two ships namely Lissy Schulte and Alpine Mystery carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were two vessels viz. Wide India and Cape Marin carrying containers due to arrive on Monday while seven vessels viz. YM Enlightenment, Ever Devine, Glovis Magellan, Mare Forum, Wquinox Glory, Lombardia and Trans Han carrying containers, coal, DAP and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 80,506 tonnes includes 18,866 tonnes of diesel oil; 40,000 tonnes of LNG; 2,200 tonnes of LPG; palm oil; 6,996 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 7,600 tonnes of chemical; 1,177 tonnes of project cargo and 11,267 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 7,828 tonnes includes 7,828 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,002 containers comprising of 593 containers import and 409 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were two ships namely MT Maersk Mediteranean and MV Pala Bora carrying oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Al-Kharsaan carrying LNG is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz. CV New Ark, MV Zi Jing Song, MV Pala Bora, MV Cretan Wave, MT Al-Kharsaan, MT Black Pearl and MT Maersk Mediteranean currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, Sunflower seeds, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely MV Rainbow Lucky, MV Diamond Sea, MV Hoanya Wisdom, MV Kavo Platanos, MT New Confidence, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Ibn Sine, MT Bahra, MT New Naxos, MT Shalamar and MT Genie carrying steel coil, cement, rice, sunflower seeds, diesel oil and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were seven vessels viz. CV Najran, CV MSC Charleston, CV MSC Maeva, MV Diamond Sea, MV BBC Vermount, MT White Purl and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers, cement, project cargo, LPG and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Energy Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were four ships namely CV CMA CGM Corneile, CV Maersk Genoa, CV Maersk Innoshima and MV Unico Siemma carrying containers and ferlizer respectively due to arrive on Monday. There is one ship namely CV MSC Silvana carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
