Selena Gomez has been hospitalized twice in the last two weeks and the second time she suffered was an emotional breakdown, after which she is now at a mental health facility for treatment.
According to TMZ's sources, the first hospital visit took place during the last week of September. Selena was despondent and emotional over an alarmingly low white blood cell count in the wake of her kidney transplant, so a family member took her to the hospital in Los Angeles.
The singer was released from hospital after several days, but was re-admitted late last week because her low blood cell count persisted, and it threw Selena into a downward emotional spiral.
Selena reportedly wanted to leave the hospital but due to the doctor’s instructions she wasn’t allowed to leave, which became the reason of sudden meltdown. She even tried to rip IV's off her arm.
She's now said to be at a psychiatric facility and is receiving Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a treatment used for various mental health conditions. Soon after this news broke, Selena's fans started sending out wishes for her speedy recovery. They made #PrayForSelena a global trend on Twitter.
Late last month, Gomez hosted an Instagram Live, telling her followers and fans that she'd been facing depression for the last five years. Soon after, she left all social media channels.
