13 Nov, 2016

Cable operators of Khyber Pakhutnkhwa Saturday demanded of Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) for deferment of the launching of DTH for next two to three years. Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC), Coordinator, Cable Operators Federation (COP) of Pakistan, Ali Raza Khan also called for stern action against those providing illegal services and operating Indian TV and C-Line across the province.
He was flanked by dozens of cable operators belonging to different parts of KP district including Imran Nabi, Adil Sardar, Shakir Ullah, Saqib, Nadir Khan, Babar Khan, Naumna Nadeem, Kamran Gohar, Raja Amir, Hayat Chaman, Sohail Khan and others. "We will raise our voice at every forum for our rights and will stage protest demonstration and go to every extent for the protection of the interest of cable operators," added Ali Raza Khan.
He said that the PEMRA should not auction the DTH license on 23rd November to prevent direct effects on thousands of cable operators across Pakistan. He maintained that all the cable operators had invested billions of rupees in digital system, but neither the digital nor the DTH polices are clear to cable operators.
