Chairman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Business Advisory Committee (KP BAC), Riaz Khattak and General Secretary Adnan Jalil have asked the provincial government for honouring all commitments made with them to operationalise the panel in true sense. Talking to media men here in the Regional Office of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), they appreciated the establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) terming it a historic achievement of the provincial government.
President, Mardan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), member KPBAC, Zahir Shah, Sartaj Ahmad Khan of Chitral Chamber and Ashfaq Afridi of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) were also present on the occasion. They said the company was progressing on right track therefore they demanded the acquisition of the 600 Kanal land of FP Textile Mills Jehangira to hand it over to KPEZDMC for the establishment of high-tech industries zone.
They said for the formation of the committee they were grateful to provincial government, which had issued formal notification in that regard on their advice. However, they are still awaiting the fulfilment of the commitment for the allocation of office for the committee in the CM Secretariat and provision of staff. The reminded the chief minister for the fulfilment of his commitment made in this regard. The committee, they said, was comprised 23 members with 15 representatives from private and eight members from public sector respectively. Furthermore, the committee also has representation of all chambers of the province.
The Business Advisory Committee, he said, had been established with vision of becoming strong arm of the provincial government and to strengthen province economically and present the problems of the business community before the provincial government. They said they were going to organise Second Regional FPCCI Achievement Awards shortly, where both Governor and Chief Minister will be invited.
