Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival up to November 15, 2016. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 87,80,543 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as on November 15, showing an increase of 9.49 percent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 80,19,613 bales.
According to the 4th fortnightly report of PCGA issued here on Friday, out of the total arrivals, 8.78 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 53,79,571 bales registering increase of 15.59 percent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 34,00,972 bales while last year Sindh received 33,65,756 bales, indicating a slight increase of 1.05 percent.
Textile mills have bought 65,79,394 bales while exporters bought 1,55,544 bales. Multan received 2,49,885 bales 139.24 percent increase when compared to last year, Lodhran 1,49,971 bales 104,48 percent increase, Khanewal 5,07,189 bales 50.08 percent increase, Muzaffargarh 2,73,533 bales an increase of 31.30 percent, Dera Ghazi Khan 2,82,432 with increase of 9.82 percent, Rajanpur 3,14,860 bales with 16.03 percent decrease, Layyah 2,16,030 , 5.55 with percent increase, Vehari 3,22,356 bales with 12.12 percent increase and Sahiwal 1,82,073 bales with 17.01 percent decrease.
