Additional Inspector General of Police and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary, Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Khan appreciated the professional policing standards of Special Security Unit of Sindh Police. This he observed during visit to various sections of the SSU Headquarters here, a statement said on Friday. Security Officer SSU, Muhammad Muzaffar Iqbal briefed him about the functioning, professional training and counter terrorism operation activities of SSU.
Dr Mujeeb said standard maintained in the SSU was a role model for other police units in the country. Muzaffar Iqbal informed that the SSU had been issued ISO certificate from United Kingdom Accreditation System (UKAS) Britain. He also informed that Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team first ever in the country comprises highly trained and well equipped commandos including lady commandos had been set up in the SSU which was capable to effectively challenge and foil any attempt of terrorists.
Dr Mujeeb also paid tributes and offered condolences to the martyred Commandos of SSU, who laid their lives in line of their duty. He also witnessed the mock exercise conducted by the Commandos of SWAT team to rush to the spot where hostile situation was created by the terrorists.
