The current level of Thailand's baht currency is appropriate for the economy, a deputy prime minister said on Wednesday, as it hovered near a one-month low amid volatility in global financial markets. The central bank will ensure stability in the baht, Somkid Jatusripitak told reporters. "The baht level now is just about right and fairly beneficial to Thailand," he said. The baht was trading at 35.48/49 against the dollar on Wednesday, near a one-month low of 35.54 hit on Friday.
