The Vice Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain has said that UET Peshawar is ready to play leading role and expand the research profile of the province in collaboration with other public and private sector universities.
Addressing the concluding session of the Invention to Innovation Summit 2016 here , Professor Hussain said that UET would welcome any collaboration with the private sector universities for the promotion of research and technology.
Registrar UET Peshawar, Dr Khizar Azam, Director ORIC UET Peshawar, Dr Saeed Gul, Vice Chancellor CECOS University, Professor Dr Riaz Khattak, Dean CECOS University, Professor Dr Azaam-ul-Asar, senior faculty members, guests from academia and industry from across Pakistan and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Regarding the summit, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar said that it was a true example of public-private partnership where during the two-day activity a number of new ideas and innovative projects not only got appreciation but recognition from the industry.
The two-day event was organized by ORIC, in collaboration with different organisations and institutions. Director ORIC, Dr Saeed Gul in his speech said that around 26 schools, 22 universities and 26 industries showcased their technologies and products.
He said that it was encouraging to see that a number of projects, which were displayed during the exhibition got funding from the industry.
Awards for different categories were also distributed in the end. NUST, Agriculture University Peshawar, PCRWR, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Peshawar, NIE, University of Sargodha, Sarhad University, IST Islamabad, Get Green Technology, IM Sciences, Hayatabad, CECOS University Peshawar, UMT Lahore and number of other educational institutions participated in summit.
