The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday extended interim bail of former Education Minister of Sindh Pir Mazharul Haq. The investigation officer during the hearing of the bail petition informed the court that 13,000 people were illegally recruited in Education department during the tenure of Pir Mazharul Haq in office. The IO informed the court that all evidence of the case have been gathered and investigation will be completed soon.
The bench extended interim bails of Pir Mazhar and EDO Mumtaz Ali Shaikh said to be involved in the corruption case and adjourned the hearing. EDO Mumtaz Ali had filed petition in SHC against his alleged involvement in irregularities in Sindh Education department.
During an earlier hearing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had informed the court that former Education minister has been involved in illegal hiring on thousands of vacancies in Sindh Education department. The anti-corruption body accuses that Pir Mazhar, a senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, has been directly involved in unlawful recruitment of 13,000 people during his tenure as provincial education minister. The report said that the minister violated all rules and regulations for recruiting 13,000 persons in connivance with EDO Mumtaz Ali.
