A fusion concert 'Melt Trio' was jointly organized by the Goethe-Institute and the German Consulate General where a large number of people attended. The auditorium where the concert held was full with the audience belonging to different walks of life! Zoya Ahmed from the Cultural Programs department of Goethe-Institute was one of the main organisers.
The German jazz band Melt Trio began touring the South Asian region in November and will continue to do so till December. The Melt Trio's Peter Meyer performed on guitar, Bernhard Meyer on bass and Moritz Baumgärtner on drums. The Meyers' distinctive, trans-genre compositions were elaborate. Many textures emerged intuitively and were neither spoken about nor written down.
Although drummer Baumgärtner was doesn't write any pieces, he contributes a tremendous amount of ideas and quickens the others. "We have sorted our ingredients more clearly and can therefore take greater risks while playing," Baumgärtner said adding that the balance between the cleverly-devised things and the free passages. He further said that the new recordings were more subtle. This was the second concert of the trio that was planned under ongoing German Weeks 2016 and the final will be Karachi Files on 23rd at the Arts Council.
