The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed to have arrested a suspected militant with a Rs 0.5 million bounty on his head in Peshawar's Hayatabad area on Wednesday. The "most wanted" suspect was allegedly involved in a 2009 deadly car bombing in Peshawar's Khyber Bazaar in which 60 people were killed, according to a CTD official.
A CTD team carried out a raid on an intelligence tip-off and arrested the suspect, who has been identified as Feroz Khan, he said. The 'militant' was also allegedly involved in the murder of Superintendent of Police (Rural) Khurshid Khan. The apprehended suspect belongs to a proscribed organisation and was wanted in more than 30 cases of terrorism, ransom and murder, the official said.
