PSO clarification

27 Nov, 2016

This is apropos the news that circulated in the electronic media on Saturday, regarding PSO storage tank catching fire at the Keamari Terminal. Pakistan State Oil hereby clarifies that no PSO storage tank caught fire and that all of PSO storage tanks, all products as well as the people operating the storage area are completely safe.
The fire and explosion incident that the media referred to occurred at M/s. Pakistan House International (PHI) methanol tank near PSO terminal/storage area. While fire-fighting was undertaken in time by KPT and Navy fire tenders, PSO teams were put on high alert after the eruption of fire and were in close coordination with PHI for the resolution of the crisis.
Keeping in view the unfortunate incident with its neighbouring PHI terminal, PSO extended all possible help and support to the fire extinguishing efforts. PSO feels for the loss of PHI and pledges to offer its full support in the future as well should it be needed. Being a responsible oil marketing company, Pakistan State Oil is always committed to maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable environment wherever it operates, for its people, customers, partners, contractors and the community at large.-PR
