A deputy superintendent of traffic police (DSP) and an employee of a flour mill were shot dead and two others injured in separate incidents of firing here on Sunday. SSP Gulshan, Dr. Fahd said that armed motorcyclist opened fire at the vehicle of DSP Traffic Faiz Ali Shigri when he came out of his residence near KDA (Lal) Flats Karachi.
His driver and gunmen from the police also sustained critical wounds. All the three were rushed to a hospital where DSP Shigri succumbed to his wounds while two others were under treatment.
Meanwhile, a manager of a flour mill identified as Sajid Sheikh was killed due to targeted firing in Kaneez Fatima Society. The police registered two cases of targeted murders and began the investigation.
