Each and every Muslim should understand Allama Iqbal and interpret his poetry as well as philosophy in its true Islamic perspective instead of explaining him in accordance with the beliefs of his own school of thought, emphasised Chairman Muslim Institute, Islamabad, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmed Ali delivering a lecture in connection with Iqbal Day in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Sunday.
Sahibzada said that Iqbal was not only a scholar, poet or philosopher but in fact he was a true preacher of Islam. Iqbal explained Quran through his poetry which also influenced the West and it was in this context that many Western universities had dedicated "Iqbal Chairs."
"Iqbal was a genius par excellence. He had a unique privilege to get three degrees from three top universities of the West in only three years," he said, adding that the crux of his poetry was the revival of Islam. He said Iqbal believed that Islam could be revived only by motivating Muslim youth because they had capability to bring revolution. Sahibzada Sultan also responded to the questions raised by the participants after the lecture.
Earlier Rana Sikandar-e-Azam, senior vice chairman in his welcome address, said that FCCI was regularly organising such lectures but it was the first during his tenure as SVP.
