JI vows to fight Sindh case

Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has vowed to fight the case of Sindh in and outside the parliament. He made this pledge speaking at the concluding session of the 2-day Sindh Workers Convention of his party at Bagh-e-Jinnah in Karachi where tens of thousands of JI workers from across the province participated.
"Pakistani nation have been plundered during last 70 years. People around the world conquered other planets while people in Pakistan are denied their basic rights and just opportunities for livelihood," he said.
The JI leader said that instead of pursuing collective goal of Pakistan's development and prosperity, the incumbent regime was pursuing their monetary benefits. He said that JI had been pursuing the agenda of a peaceful, prosperous and Islamic Pakistan. He urged masses to live their lives in accordance with the teachings and principles of Islam that would make their life peaceful. He urged people to read some verses from the Holy Quran on daily basis so as to have guidance directly from the divine holy book. "JI is not an ordinary political party but a revolutionary movement that has been struggling for a peaceful Islamic revolution," he said.
Siraj said that Karachi was a role model city that had a lion's share in the betterment of the country through revenue, academics, industry and intellect. He lamented that incapable leadership of the city and the country had ruined Karachi.
He emphasised on the need to restore basic facilities in Sindh including Karachi so that an era of peace, prosperity and development could return to this part of Pakistan. He said that corruption being perpetrated in Islamabad, Hyderabad and Karachi had badly affected Sindh's development.
The JI leader excoriated the provincial government for legislations against the teachings of Islam that also transcended the ambit of Constitution of the country.
He expressed his disappointment that the party of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was trying to breach the Constitution that was bestowed by PPP's founder.
Siraj warned the federal and the provincial government to mend their ways. He asked ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) to reveal the details of the offshore assets of its leadership.
He said that the crystal clear probe in Panamagate was the voice of Pakistan.
He said that the JI was determined to fight for the rights of labourers and other oppressed segments of Sindh. He also advised people to discharge their due responsibilities with honesty.
Ameer of JI Sindh chapter Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that Sindh was pushed against wall, the city known as economic nerves and the city of lights had been facing darkness since long.
He vowed that the JI would not only restore the status of city of lights of Karachi but would also revive the province's lost glory.
"JI will not leave people of Karachi alone. We shall fight for the rights of Karachi and struggle for the progress and development of Sindh province," he vowed promising that if provided with power, his party would ensure 100 percent literacy rate in Sindh. He said that budget for education would be raised by 10 percent. He also announced that 1000 scholarships would be made available each year, if JI to gain power in Sindh.
He said that each and every girl of the province would be empowered and literate. He cited the example of former mayor of Karachi Niamatullah Khan who served Karachi as JI's mayor.
Merajul Huda said that colleges would be establised in each and every sub-district of the province. He also promised to reform agriculture sector and to provide farmers with interest-free loans and an end to the interest-based system in agriculture sector. He said that Thar region would be made green in the first five years of JI rule in the province.
Earlier JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also spoke at the final session of the convention. He lamented on the political vacuum being faced by Karachi and Sindh claiming that the future of Sindh and particularly Karachi was associated with Islam and Islamic revolution. He accused the federal and provincial governments of usurping the rights of people of Karachi.
Meanwhile, speaking at the women conference during the Sindh workers convention of the JI, Sirajul Haq urged the women of Pakistan to make Hazrat Aysha (RA) and Hazrat Fatima (RA) their role model so as to have success in both this world and hereafter.
He said that the Western powers have been targeting family system of Islamic world so as to destroy the very fabric of Islamic societies.
JI women wing leader Samiha Raheel Qazi in her address said that women were directly affected by poverty, inflation, unemployment and deteriorated situations of the country.
She said that the JI was striving hard to restore the position of women in the society. She said JI wanted to get women their due status enshrined in the teachings of Islam. She said that women have been facing several problems in the society but they needed not to be disappointed and continue struggle for Islamic revolution in the country which would ensure provision of rights to women.
She was of the view that the prosperity of Sindh would ensure prosperity of Pakistan. She added that efforts to ensure the rights of Sindh should be harnessed.
Durdana Siddiqui of JI women wing said at the conference that only a prosperous and Islamic Pakistan would mitigate the problems of Sindhi people.
She said that back to back ruling regimes be they were so-called democratic or dictatorial regime, hade been ruining the country for almost seven decades. She said it was high time for the nation to support and uphold the agenda of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Ayesha Munawar and Kausar Firdous of the JI also shed light on the struggle of JI women wing in and outside the parliament and the issues, as well as their causes, being face by women in Pakistani society, respectively.
