All the seeded players won their respective matches in the first round of the 1st Nayza All-Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2016 here at the PLTA tennis courts on Tuesday. Pakistan No 1 player Aqeel Khan played well against Barkat Ullah and thrashed him by 6-2, 6-1. Aqeel was toying with his opponent to play freely but later on, he started playing aggressively and overpowered his opponent in first set by 6-2 and then in second set by 6-1 to register victory.
In other first round matches of the day, Asad Ullah thumped Ijaz Khan 6-0, 6-3, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman routed Rashid Khan 6-1, 6-1, Mudassar Murtaza defeated Zeeshan 6-3, 6-2, Shahzad Khan outlasted Hassan Riaz 6-1, 6-1, Yousaf Khan outpaced Saqib Omar 6-0, 6-3, Usman Rafiq beat Fayyaz Khan 6-2, 6-4, Muzammil Murtaza downed Aman Atiq Khan 6-3, 6-3, Ahmed Chaudhry overwhelmed Ikram Ullah 6-2, 6-1, Aziz Mujahid beat Hasaan Shoukat 6-2, 6-2, Abdaal Haider beat Rashid Malik 6-2, 7-6, Yasir Khan, younger brother of Aqeel Khan, beat Faizan Khurram 4-6, 6-0, 7-5, Heera Ashiq thrashed Kashanul Haq 6-0, 6-1, Sahabzada M Ali beat Ilham Khan 6-4, 6-3, M Abid thumped Ahmed Babar 6-2, 6-1 to make their ways to the pre-quarterfinals.
In under-18 first round matches, Muzammil Murtaza crushed Sameer Ahmad 6-0, 6-0, Ahmed Kamil beat Bilal Kabeer 6-4, 6-3, Yousaf Khan beat Shakir Ullah 6-1, 7-5, Asad Ullah outpaced Fahad Ahmad 6-2, 6-2, Hafiz Arbab Ali outlasted M Abdullah 6-1, 6-1, Saqib Umar beat Faizan Shahid 6-3, 6-0, Abdul Haider outran Aziz Raja 6-2, 6-2, Amir Naseem beat Irfan Mughal 6-4, 6-4, Farhan Ullah beat Saqib Umar 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, Barkat Ullah outlasted Hambal 6-2, 6-1, Sahabzada M.
