The global theme for World AIDS Day is 'hands up for HIV prevention' and the aim is to involve all segments of the society to play their role in prevention and control of HIV/AIDS. This year all major activities related to World AIDS Day will he carried out in Larkana along with other cities. Sindh Government is taking all necessary steps to control the menace of HIV/AIDS from growing further.
The good news is that AIDS is no more an incurable disease and can be controlled but to do that it's important that all efforts are directed towards spreading awareness about preventing HIV and that is what the global theme for World AIDS Day all about. On this auspicious occasion of World AIDS Day, I am proud to announce that we are entering into the second phase of HIV/AIDS intervention in Sindh through development of PC-l for FY-20l6-l9. Government of Sindh is an active participant in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In order to create awareness on a larger scale we're taking our fight against HIV/AIDS to Larkana, Sindh. Recently, new cases of AIDS emerged in Larkana so, the need of the hour is to take our efforts a step further and educate the people of rural Sindh about AIDS and its prevention. It is high time that we fight this disease with renewed efforts and determination.
A great amount of commitment would be required in making Fast-Track HIV/AIDS Approach a success and greater effort would be needed to prevent new HIV infections, reduce AIDS related deaths and eliminate HIV-related discrimination in Pakistan.
