Punjab Assembly proceedings marred by members' lack of interest

The proceedings of Punjab Assembly were again marred on Friday mainly due to absence of members both from treasury and opposition benches. The House could not complete any official business in its Friday's proceedings. The opposition legislators held Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsible for treasury members' lack of interest in the proceedings while the ruling party legislators insisted that the opposition members should have knowledge about the assembly laws.
Earlier, the Punjab Assembly was informed that effective measures are being taken for protection of wildlife in the province. During question hour the house was informed that forestry, wildlife and fisheries department has set up a wildlife protection force for this purpose. Special check posts have also been set to check illegal hunting. The House will now meet on Monday at 2.00 pm.
Earlier, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan told media on the Punjab Assembly premises that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is being misguided by his party men. Welcoming return of the PPP in Punjab, Rana Sanaullah advised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to practice serious politics instead of politics being pursued by Imran Khan. He said law and order situation in Punjab is under control. He added that culprits involved in robbing Inamullah Niazi MPA would be arrested soon with the help of CCTV footage. Regarding Jhang bye-election result, Rana said the independent candidate who emerged victorious got sympathy votes. The PML-N candidate contested the election well while the candidates of PTI and PPP were not seen anywhere, he added.
