Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to ensure transportation of all the bodies of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash victims to one hospital for their recognition and further transportation. Soon after the tragedy, the Prime Minister directed the departments concerned to provide full emergency assistance to the family members regarding the whereabouts of the unfortunate passengers and keep him updated about the evolving situation on the continuous basis.
He also directed the NDMA to convey to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) as well as district administration for transportation of all dead bodies to a single hospital. To this effect, a facilitation centre was established by district co-ordination office (DCO) Abbottabad with the decision to shift the dead bodies to Ayub Medical Teaching Hospital Abbottabad.
Other steps taken were activation of National Emergency Operation Centre for co-ordination and assistance from the NDMA and the ministry of interior was directed to place its helicopters on the disposal of the NDMA to evacuate dead bodies. The chairman NADRA was directed to mobile biometric teams for biometric identification of those, who have lost their lives in the tragedy. Additionally, district administration was also taken on board through the PDMA in this regard.
The Prime Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of valuable lives in the unfortunate PIA ATR crash and stated the entire nation is deeply saddened over the unfortunate crash and shares the grief of the families who lost their dear ones. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed souls with eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
