KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while talking to a seven-member mission of Asian Development Bank at CM House Peshawar on Wednesday has said his government was all set to integrate the entire road network throughout the province as a step ahead for enhanced productivity.
Advisor to Chief Minister on C&W, Secretary C&W Asif Khan, MD PKHA Engr Muhammad Uzair and others were also present on the occasion. The participants were informed that the Asian Development Bank would help out the provincial government projects under titled "Provincial Road Rehabilitation Project". The project would cost 15 billion rupees and would rehabilitate and reconstruct different roads up to 500km of length in different districts throughout the province.
The Asian Development Bank would provide 85 percent of the total cost of the project as ADP support loan. The provincial government would put its share in the project as 15 percent of the total Rs 15 billion being spent on the provincial road rehabilitation project under ADP. The ADB Director assured that funding would be available with the commencement of work on the project.
The CM directed for expeditious work on Engineering design, the subsequent procurement and the capacity building for these projects. Khattak directed to acquire land up to 50 Kanal for the development of service areas on these roads where these areas would be developed on commercial lines and the private sector would be invited to start commercial activities and that would be the part of the project.
