Tariq Mehmood of Garrison Golf Club has emerged as the gross winner of the Seniors event of the All Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Amateur Golf Championship. Tariq demonstrated his golfing ability exhibiting the hitting power which one normally associates with younger champion amateurs. While striving for honor in the event, he was at his best and this is reflected by his card of gross 76, over 18 holes.
The other shining star in the seniors category was Colonel Asif Mehdi of Defence Raya Golf Club who managed his game equitably well and compiled a score of gross 76 but Tariq won the top position as he had a better score on the back nine. Other performers in the gross section were Colonel Waqar Ahmed with a score of gross 78, and Javed A. Khan ended the 18 holes at a score of gross 80.
The runner up in the net category is Waqar Ahmed. In this category too like in gross, two contenders, Asad and Waqar had a similar score of net 69 but the victor was Asad as a result of his better score over the last nine holes. Amongst the ladies, the former champion of yester years, Shazadi Gulfam played good golf to regain her champion like status. Her score for 18 holes was gross 88. Tehmina Rashid came second in gross. Winner net was Shahnaz Moeen and Rabia Tiwana came second.
