Business community welcomes new ISI chief, CGS

The leadership of Businessmen Group (BMG) and office bearers of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), while congratulating Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar and Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar on their appointments as DG ISI and Chief of General Staff respectively, paid glowing tribute to both the officers for their untiring efforts and noteworthy contribution towards restoring peace and tranquillity in Karachi.
In a statement issued, Chairman Businessmen Group & Former President KCCI Siraj Kassam Teli, Vice Chairmen BMG Tahir Khaliq, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki & Anjum Nisar, President KCCI Shamim Ahmed Firpo, Senior Vice President KCCI Asif Nisar and Vice President KCCI Muhammad Younus Soomro, welcomed the decision to appoint Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar as DG ISI and Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar as Chief of General Staff which they rightly deserved. "These appointments clearly indicate the fact that Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar and Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar have performed exceptionally well in their official endeavors", they added.
They also eulogised the professionalism and preparedness of both the officers who worked tirelessly to ensure that no matter what it takes, the wheels of industries must keep spinning in a safe and secure business environment. "With the appointment of such highly determined officers at some of the key positions, we are confident that the defence of the country is in safe and capable hands", they added.
They said that the entire business and industrial community of Karachi will always remember the hard work, determination, struggle and matchless contribution by both the officers towards restoring peace in the city under Karachi Operation initiated in 2013 which yielded positive results as the overall security situation in Karachi city was not the same as it was some 3 years ago.
They also appreciated the support and co-operation extended by both officers to the business and industrial community of Karachi which gave them a new hope for a better future of Karachi which continues to contribute a mammoth amount of more than 65 percent revenue to the national exchequer despite many ups and downs from time to time.-PR
