PPDWP approves four uplift schemes

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PPDWP) approved four development schemes of irrigation and road sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 4357.397 million. These schemes were cleared in the 38th meeting of PPDWP of current fiscal year 2016-17, presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Jehanzeb Khan. Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the departments concerned also attended the meeting.
According to P&DD spokesman, the approved development schemes included: construction of flood bund along River Indus from Raikh Baghwala to Bait Wagwar Kot Mithan district Rajanpur at the cost of Rs 1645.936 million, construction of Nutkani flood carrying channel from RD 0+000-21+000, district DG Khan.(revised) at the cost of Rs 654.832 million, rehabilitation of eastern Sadiqia Canal for restoring its design capacity in Reach RD 0+000 to 195+000, Bahawalnagar at the cost of Rs 940.429 million and construction of flyover bridge at Abbasia Town, Rahim Yar Khan at the cost of Rs 1116.200 million.
