Activity at Karachi & Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 151,176 tonnes of cargo comprising 124,480 tonnes of import cargo and 26,696 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 124,480 tonnes comprised of 57,290 tonnes of containerised cargo; 27,245 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 20,500 tonnes of coal; 6,745 tonnes of DAP and 39,945 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,696 tonnes comprised of 23,896 tonnes of containerised cargo and 2,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were five ships namely Hyundai Long Beach, OOCL California, MT Karachi, MT Lahore and Union Fortune carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. APL Oman, Asavari, Nautical Alice, Phoenix Nereid and Matumba carrying containers, oil tanker, soyabean meal, fertilizer and coal respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Kota Kaya and Taroko carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday while another ship namely Rowan-1 carrying containers is expected to sail on Thursday.
There were six vessels Kota Kaya, Vecchio Bridge, Fidelity, Maistros, Lady Venus and BBC Campana carrying containers, mogas and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while six vessels viz. Alexandria Bridge, Sabya, Elka Delphi, Lord Wellington, Mandarin China and Bavand carrying containers, mogas, DAP, coal and clinker respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total import cargo of 147,434 tonnes includes 48,085 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,300 tonnes of palm oil; 17,000 tonnes of LNG; 1,410 tonnes of LPG; 4,850 tonnes of fertilizer and 57,589 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 41,536 tonnes includes 7,526 tonnes of rice and 34,010 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,811 containers comprising of 3,013 containers import and 1,798 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely MT Castillo De Santistobon carrying LNG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV Maersk Memphis carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV Maersk Memphis, CV UASC Al-Khor, CV MSC Mykonos, MV Serene Susannah, MV Johann Oldendroff, MV Bella Masuka, MT Senna Princess, Castillo De Santistobon, MT Liberty-N, MT Rebecca Schulte and MT Lion-M currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, fertilizer, LNG, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV Maersk Savannah, MV Infinity, MV Mu Mian Song, MV African Turach, MT Plumeria Coral, MT White Purl, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Harmony, MT Pvt Athend, MT Qubba, MT Bunga Angsana and MT Shan Dongzihe carrying containers, canola seeds, project cargo, steel coil, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
There is one vessel viz. CV Maersk Savannah carrying containers expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday. There were six ships namely CV Posiden, CV MSC Joanna, CV Uni Florifida, MT Maran Gas Delphin, MT Brizo and MT Al Dasma carrying containers, LNG, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday. There is one ship namely CV Mataquito carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
