Aircraft sold in violation of PPRA rules?

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla of Pakistan People''s Party on Friday submitted a notice inviting attention to purported illegal sale of PIA aircraft A-310 to a German company without the award of tender. According to a calling notice, Senator Mandviwalla said that PIA had sold its Airbus A-310 to a German firm, in violation of the PPRA Rules for a very nominal value of Rs 5.3 million. The PPP and other opposition senators have signed the calling attention.
Saleem said that the plane had already been handed over to the firm and presently was grounded in a foreign country. While according to the claim of aviation experts the worth of the said aircraft was in millions of dollars as it has the certificate of airworthiness. The notice further stated that it was also reported that plane was purchased by the museum authorities in Germany, which may perhaps be used by the Israel government in a propaganda film. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said the matter was of utmost public importance. The Minister in Charge should make a statement immediately in the house in this regard.
