The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during ceremony held at Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar Sunday.
Under the MoU a framework of co-operation in which the parties will develop projects in relation to police order management First Aid and explosive handling. The ICRC will provide technical training to the KP Police in public order management (POM) with a special focus of introducing international standards and News to search and seizure, use of force and fireworks. The ICRC will also train police inspectors on POM.
Similarly, the ICRC will continue providing First Aid training to police personnel of different cadre to enable to respond quickly and effectively to casualties in emergency situations.
Furthermore the ICRC will train BDU on specialized First Aid subject on blast related injuries to enable the KP police to hold this course indigenously. Both the parties agreed to support the KP BDU unit in general and police school of Explosive handling in particular with regard to different components of the BDU activities.
DIG Headquarters, Muhammad Alam Shinwari, DIG Training Syed Fida Hussain Shah, AIG Training and DSP training Aneela Naz from police force and Patrick Sonmay Sana, head of sub-delegation (ICRC) Peshawar and its members attended the ceremony.
From police side DIG training Syed Fida Hassan Shah and from ICRC side Patrick Sonmay Sana signed the MoU.
