Markaz-e-Umeed organises Social Expo-2016

The Markaz-e-Umeed organised the Social Expo-2016 with exclusive support of SSGC and vigorous participation of humanity serving NGOs of Pakistan in Karachi Expo Centre here on Sunday.
The Social Expo 2016 was jointly inaugurated by Senator Nehal Hashmi and President KCCI Shammim Firpo. Other notables present on the occasion were Ishtiaq Baig, Head of Make-a-Wish Foundation, Ateeq-ur-Rehman AMTF, Naeem Qureshi NFEH, Head of CCD SSGC Shahbaz Islam, CEO Amn Foundation Ahmed Jalal, Rizwan Jaffer Youth Parliament, Emil Wyss former Consul General of Switzerland, Rehan Hashmi Chairman District Central, Mahmood Tareen TPN, Yogi Wajahat, Toys Foundation and Chief Organiser Markaz-e-Umeed Zeeshan Siddiqui. Chief of MQM-P Dr Farooq Satar and opposition Leader of Sindh Assembly, Khuwaja Izhar-ul- Hasan also visited the Social Expo 2016.
The speakers appreciated the thought behind this Expo and congratulated Markaz-e-Umeed for continuing the noble initiative they took 4 years back by organising first ever Social Expo.
On this occasion Senator Nehal Hashmi said that seeing so many special children performing on stage gives him delight and he also feels like a little child. He said that Social Expo has knocked out the fake NGOs who busy minting money are doing nothing.
Shamim Firpo said the Expo is a big success especially for those who are doing community services selflessly and are proudly presenting their work in front of this huge audience. He said that KCCI supports such initiatives and their doors are open for any good cause.
At the occasion Social Expo awards were given to 13 organisations that have a proud history of serving less privileged ones for a long period of time. The awards were conferred upon WWF-Pakistan, Alamgir Welfare Trust International, LRBT, Saylani Welfare International Trust, TCF, AMTF, Ida-Rieu School, SIUT, MALC, The Indus Hospital, Edhi Foundation, Darul Sukun, Akhuwat and Make-a-wish Foundation.
The Expo was participated by more than 200 Non-profit organisations who were engaged in serving the humanity for long period of time. Motivational presentation was given by Shahbaz Islam, Umair Jaliawala and Yogi Wajahat.
Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd played a vital role and supported Markaz e Umeed in organising this splendid meaningful event which displayed varied services by the NGOs.-PR
