On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,021. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 2.99 billion and the number of lots traded was 9,085. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 999.72 million, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 880.44 million, WTI Crude oil PKR 831.99 million, silver PKR 270.56 million, copper PKR 12.87 million and Brent crude oil PKR 3.25 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 16,100 lots of Red Chilli amounting to PKR 2.64 million and 13 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 4.82 million were also traded.
