Cricketers share time with thalassemia patients

Renowned cricketers Mohammad Irfan and Junaid Khan visited Omair Sana Thalassemia Centre where they met with Thalassemia children and their parents. The two cricketers spent some time with them and distributed gifts to these children. They cut a cake with Thalassemia children and appreciated efforts of Omair San Foundation against Thalassemia.
They also visited day care unit where they had chit chat with children, entertained them and took selfies with them, as well. Dr Kashif Ansari, president of the foundation, Dr Saqib Ansari, general secretary, Dr Ambreen, joint secretary, Obaid Hashmi, renowned sports anchor Yahya Hussaini and other people were also present. Earlier, Thalassemia children welcomed the cricketers presenting bouquet of flowers to them. Talking to journalists, Mohammad Irfan and Junaid Khan said that they felt pain to see these children. They lauded those who were managing these children, supporting their families and making efforts to eradicate thalassemia from Pakistan. They said they knew that the disorder was increasing rapidly. They appealed to youth for getting Thalassemia test before marriage so that the disorder could be prevented. They urged all to make a collective effort to create awareness as it was the only way to control this menace. They also requested for blood donation voluntarily for these unfortunate children of Thalassemia. They acknowledged the effort of OSF and assured to play their role making all out effort to nip this disorder.
Dr Kashif Hussain Ansari praised the humbleness and kindness of the said two bowlers saying that children and their parents too were grateful for their time and interest to the cause. He said Omair Sana Foundation began the cause of thalassemia free Pakistan and would continue to attain the sacred goal.
