CBOT wheat futures lower

Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade closed lower on Tuesday, retreating from early advances on technical selling and a stronger dollar, which in theory makes US grain less competitive on the world market, traders said. CBOT March wheat settled down 1-1/2 cents at $4.06-1/2 per bushel after reaching $4.14, the contract's highest since mid-December. K.C. March hard red winter wheat ended down 4-1/2 cents at $4.14 a bushel and MGEX March spring wheat fell 1/2 cent at $5.37-1/2. Markets underpinned by worries about dry conditions in parts of the southern Plains wheat belt.
