Seven killed, eight injured in cylinder blast

At least seven labourers died and eight others sustained severe burnt injuries as a gas cylinder exploded in a casting shed of a private construction company near Mahmood Booti Interchange, sources said on Wednesday. According to the sources, nine people including Arif 20, Naeem 22, Amjad 18, Younas 28, Abid 22, Ramzan Naveed 19, Sami-ul-Rehman 18, and Muhammad Abbas are being treated at Mayo Hospital and Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital.
They said the blast was carried out after 2:00 pm in the casting shed of Habib Rafique Construction Company where labourers were working and suffered burns injuries. In no time dense smoke enveloped the area and valuables were also reduced to ashes, they said.
