More rains, snowfalls likely on Tuesday

The Met Office on Monday forecast more rains and snowfalls in the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. It said that rain coupled with snow was expected to fall over the mountainous parts in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Very cold and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the country.
Maximum rainfall in Punjab was recorded in Layyah as 24 mm, Lahore 21, Murree 20, Mianwali and Joharabad 17 each, Noorpurthal 16, Gujranwala and Chakwal 14 each, Sialkot (Airport 13 and City 12), Jehlum and Bhakkar 13 each, Rawalpindi (Chaklala and Shamsabad 12 each), Sargodha and Mangla 10 each. Islamabad: Zero Point and Saidpur 13 each, Golra 12 and Bokra 10.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar 21, DI Khan 17, Cherat, Malamjabba 15 each, Risalpur 13 and Dir 11. Kashmir: Kotli 15 and Rawalakot 12. Lowest temperature was recorded in Gupis as minus 10 degrees Celsius, Kalam minus nine, Kalat, Malamjabba, Astore and Parachinar minus six, each, Skardu minus five, Bagrote, Zhob and Hunza minus four, each, and Chitral minus three, in the last 24 hours.
In 48 hours: Mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country. However, more rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Zhob and Makran Divisions, Islamabad, Upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
