Raheel says intelligence sharing very important to combat terrorism

Former army chief General Raheel Sharif (retired) has said on Tuesday that intelligence sharing is very much important component of the course of action against terrorism. Aaj News reported that he expressed these views at a session discussion on "Terrorism in the Digital Age" at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Raheel Sharif said that terrorism was a global issue and the global community would have to get united to defeat it. He said that 2016 witnessed a significant decrease in terrorism.He said that in Pakistan, the army cleared 8,000 square kilometers area after recapturing it from the militants' control. He said that tens of thousands of the affected people were rehabilitated in the area, so far. He said that Pakistan suffered tragedies at the hands of terrorists. He said that terrorists massacred 135 students in a single attack on the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar. But he made clear that the states can not take such negative measures against terrorists like they do.
He said that terrorism had become cancer for the world. He added that terrorists used to attack in an organised way. He said that the recruiters and the facilitators are also terrorists because they (become) part of terrorism.
