The Lahore High Court here on Wednesday dismissed a federal government appeal against an order by a single bench for recalculating sentence of Musharaf attack case including remissions and fixing his probable release date.
A division bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi dismissed the appeal and withdrew an earlier stay granted against the implementation of the single bench decision.
A single bench comprising Justice Shahid Hameed Dar had passed the impugned order disposing of a habeas corpus petition challenging detention of convict Adnan Khan even after completion of his sentence in the Musharraf attack case.
Saira Khan, mother of the convict, filed the petition and contended that her son Khan had undergone his jail term handed down by a military court but the authorities were delaying his release.
