Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to pay Rs 5 million compensation to the legal heirs of each passenger, martyred in the tragic air crash of PK-661 on December 7, 2016. According to official announcement, the amount of Rs 5 million payable to the legal heirs would be exclusive of the interim /advance payments in the amount of Rs 0.5 million paid to each bereaved family.
The airline said that final payment of Rs 5 million would be paid as soon as the legal heirs claiming compensation for the loss of their loved ones have obtained the succession certificates and where applicable guardianship certificates regarding property of the minor(s) legal heirs of the deceased and any other relevant documents.
