US Plains HRW wheat bids steady

Most cash basis bids for hard red winter wheat (HRW) in the southern US Plains held steady on Thursday except in Goodland, Kansas where they rose, spurred by increased demand, merchants said. Bids for grain shipped by barge to the US Gulf Coast were up by 3 cents per bushel, supported by firmer barge freight and tight supplies of export-grade grain.
Meanwhile, Chicago Board of Trade K.C. wheat retreated, pressured by profit-taking and the firmer dollar.
