Palestinian President arrives on January 31

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Pakistan on an official visit on January 31 to discuss issues of mutual interests, situation in Palestine and ways to strengthen bilateral relations, it was learnt.
Sources said that the Palestinian President will be given a warm welcome on his visit to the country. During his stay, President Mahmoud Abbas will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain to discuss various issues, including expanding co-operation and bilateral relations between the two countries.
The sources said that the both sides would also discuss the illegal Israeli settlement on the occupied Palestinian territory.
On December 23, 2016, the UN Security Council adopted a landmark resolution, demanding halt to the Israeli settlement on the occupied territories after Obama administration refused to veto the resolution.
The visiting Palestinian President along with Prime Minister Sharif would inaugurate the new building of Palestinian Embassy at Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad. It would be President Mahmoud Abbas's third visit to Pakistan. Last time, he had visited Pakistan in February 2010.
