KP asks Centre to relax NoC condition for visiting investors

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak Thursday said that federal authorities should not involve foreign investors and delegations in intricacies of getting NoC before visiting the province as it would serve nothing but affect the process of investment in the province.
He was chairing meetings convened to finalise working groups in context of CPEC and preparations of provincial departments relating to proposed Road Show in Beijing. The meeting among others was attended by Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, administrative secretaries of provincial departments and officials concerned.
Speaking on the occasion, the KP CM said that NoC is a hurdle that is affecting progress and development of KP. He said situation of security is excellent and exemplary in the province while foolproof security would be ensured to visiting investors besides raising a separate force to further enhance security measures.
He said that some political parties are using CPEC for their political ambitions suggesting that the Prime Minister should call a meeting to take leaders of political parties into confidence. He said we would also highlight investment vistas in mineral and sell out them to Chinese investors to derive maximum benefits from CPEC.
He informed that various Chinese companies have shown interests in economic zones of KP. He said all the matters relating to projects of industrial units and hydel power have been solved and each province would be given one Industrial Zone.
Pervez Khattak said that agreement has been signed with Chinese investment firm for the development of Industrial Zone on 4,000 kanal of land near motorway while an agreement would soon be finalized for Rashakai Industrial Estate. He informed that work on hydel power projects was underway and projects capable of generating 1700 MW electricity are being included in first phase adding Run of the River projects would also be established.
