USAID delegation calls on minister

Punjab Agriculture Minister Naeem Akhtar Bhabha has called upon the representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to further enhance co-operation with the provincial government in the agricultural sector to take benefit of the latest agricultural research for increasing the per acre yield of agricultural commodities in the province.
The Minister made this call during a meeting with a USAID delegation held here on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the prospects of mutual co-operation for construction of cold storage and provision of agricultural machinery to the growers. The meeting vowed to work for welfare of the growers and increasing yield of different crops with the help of United States.
The delegation informed the minister that the work on construction of cold storage for citrus and mangoes was in progress at a swift pace while the Agency was also working with the University of Agriculture Faisalabad for research and training on latest lines.
Naeem Akhtar Bhabha told the USAID delegation that construction of a cold storage at Multan Airport was essential to save mangoes. The delegation assured its full co-operation in this regard.
